2 Peter 1:12-15

12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

Always to remind you of these qualities

Our faith always needs to go beyond just head knowledge. We need transformed hearts that act on what they know. Peter wants to ensure that they always keep their hearts in line with God’s. 

Putting off of my body will be soon

Peter knows his life will be ending soon. He wants to end his life strengthening his people and giving them an example to follow long after he is gone. There is no desire for self-preservation, retirement, or getting in bucket list items. He wants to end following the example of Jesus ministering until his last breath

May be able at any time to recall these things

Some acts are so spectacular that we never forget them. We can always remember them and can be inspired to do the same by them. Do you want to do things to share Jesus’ love that will never be forgotten?

Reflect and list out all the ways someone has gone out of their way to serve and care for you. How can you try to do what they did for you for someone else

Reflect and list out all the things you have felt Jesus did for you. Think of ways you can do those same things for the people he has placed in your lives.
